Mike Volrath, division manager for Heartland Payment Systems’ Iowa and Nebraska sales team has been named “Purveyor Partner of the Year” by the Iowa Restaurant Association. Each year this honor is given by the Association in recognition of the partner that goes above and beyond to provide exceptional services or products, including professional integrity and care, for Iowa’s restaurant community. Volrath accepted the award on September 23 at an awards ceremony at the Meadows Event Center at Prairie Meadows.
“Partnerships are built on relationships and Mike Volrath has a rare gift for building rapport with customers and partners alike,” said Jessica Dunker, president and CEO of the Iowa Restaurant Association. “He has methodically built a partnership with the Iowa Restaurant Association and its members that is the envy of other states.”
The honor was presented to Volrath by the Chairmen of both the Iowa Restaurant Association and National Restaurant Association Board of Directors Mike Rastrelli of Clinton, Iowa and Phil Hickey of Atlanta, Georgia.
Commitment to Association Events, Member Growth
Each year Volrath helps the IRA team with its membership growth programs. He has also served as chair of the Association’s annual golf outing for three years. Even more importantly Mike and his team of 20+ sales people consult with hundreds of restaurant owners every year to assist with their credit card processing, payroll services, and loyalty programs.
“At the end of the day, people buy from people,” says Mike. “That’s why I have to be fully confident that the solutions I offer will make a positive impact on my customers’ businesses.” That commitment to put people first is what led the IRA to name Mike Volrath its 2012 Purveyor Partner of the Year.
