It was Friday night and we were in the mood to go out with friends. My husband and I spent a great evening with another couple at Centro. The restaurant appeared to be completely full when we arrived at about 6:45 p.m., but they were able to squeeze us in right away (I would still recommend calling for reservations on a Friday or Saturday night.) People were sitting indoors and outdoors, but we opted for indoors. Everything on Centro’s menu sounds good to me when I read about it – even the brussel sprouts. In fact, we started with a pan-seared brussel sprouts. Light, seasoned, and terrific! We then “ran the menu” with Centro salads, and chicken, seafood and beef entrees. I opted for Chicken Saltimbocca after seeing the same dish delivered to the gentleman at the next table (yes I actually asked him what he’d ordered). It was as good as it looked, but the real fun was the arrival of our desserts—George’s Marshmallow Sundaes. Words cannot do this dessert justice –vanilla bean gelato, chocolate ganache, salted peanuts, brownie and bruleed marshmallow (think of a toasted marshmallow stretched over the top of a dessert dish)—it’s an A+ on taste and presentation. Add a nice bottle of wine, a couple of White Russians and really there is no better way to spend an evening.
