Twice this week I had the good fortune to be in the neighborhood of Gateway Market. I always regret not having more time to simply “hang out” when I go in there. As expected, the Café and grocery store were bustling and I appreciated people watching the eclectic patrons Gateway attracts. If I have the time, I generally head back to the wine department to see what’s new. Abbe Hendricks, Gateway’s “wine gal,” can be counted on for a great recommendation and was the person who pointed me to some of my favorite (and very reasonably priced) wines. This week I hit Gateway’s Café two different times of day – once to pick up a quick dinner and once to pick up a light lunch. In my “to go” bag? On Tuesday night, a MEDITERRANEAN VEGETABLE WRAP loaded with roasted red pepper hummus, veges, feta cheese, kalamata olives and tabouli. On Friday lunchtime, I took a CRANBERRY WALNUT SALAD back to the office. It got me through the day with fresh greens, Gorgonzola crumbles, candied walnuts, dried cranberries and creamy balsamic vinaigrette! Shop and dine! Could life get any better?
