Clint Goodman of Daniel Arthur’s Receives
Annual Award
Des Moines, Iowa (November 7, 2006) – The Iowa
Restaurant Association named Clint Goodman, executive chef of Daniel Arthur’s
Restaurant in Cedar Rapids, the 2006 Chef of the Year. Goodman was
honored at the association’s annual Awarding Excellence ceremony.
“The Iowa Restaurant Association Chef of the Year award
recognizes creativity, culinary excellence and service to the industry,” said
Doni DeNucci, president and CEO for the Iowa Restaurant Association. “Clint has
made a name for himself in the Cedar Rapids area as a local culinary sensation
and we expect that recognition to extend well beyond his market very quickly.”
Goodman is a self-taught chef that has been instrumental in
putting one of Cedar Rapid’s newest fine dining restaurants Daniel Arthur’s on
the map. His creativity and commitment to excellence are helping elevate the
culinary sophistication of the restaurant’s staff and customers alike. One of
his trademarks is a commitment to use as much organic and fresh product as
possible. In fact, his wife, a horticulturist, grows many of the herbs he uses
in his dishes. Clint continually challenges himself and delights his guests.
Goodman was selected by a panel of restaurateurs who noted
the chef’s unique blend of culinary excellence and business savvy as the reason
for his selection.
